Slow Cooker Brown Sugar Pineapple Chicken
Description
Slow Cooker Brown Sugar Pineapple Chicken uses chicken thighs cooked low and slow with a mixture of brown sugar and crushed pineapple, bringing both sweetness and moisture to the meat. The Worcestershire sauce adds depth alongside kosher salt and black pepper, while minced garlic enhances the savory notes. Cooking in a slow cooker allows the flavors to meld and the chicken to become very tender. After slow cooking, briefly broiling the chicken crisps the skin, giving a desirable texture contrast to the soft meat below. The addition of fresh pineapple right before serving adds a fresh, bright element. This combination creates a balance of sweet, savory, and slightly tangy flavors with juicy tender chicken thighs. It suits a family-friendly meal with a comforting, slightly tropical twist.
Ingredients
- 5 chicken thighs , bone-in, skin-on
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper coarse ground
- 20 ounces pineapple crushed
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar , packed
- 3 cloves garlic , minced
Instructions
- Place chicken thighs in the slow cooker skin side up and season with Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Top with garlic, brown sugar and most of your pineapple (save 1/2 cup) along with all the pineapple juice from the can.
