Slow Cooker Pot Roast

Slow Cooker Pot Roast features a beef roast cooked slowly with cream of mushroom soup and onion soup mix to create a tender, flavorful main dish. Optional vegetables like carrots and potatoes can be added for a classic comfort meal with rich gravy enhanced by the creamy soup base.

Description

This pot roast recipe uses a 3-pound beef roast placed in a slow cooker and topped with cream of mushroom soup and onion soup mix, which combine to create a flavorful and moist cooking environment. The slow cooking process, on low or high settings, gradually tenderizes the roast, infusing it with savory mushroom and onion flavor.

Optionally, carrots and potatoes can be added halfway through cooking, contributing additional texture and absorbing the savory juices. Adjusting the amount of mushroom soup enhances gravy volume and thickness, and a small amount of water can be added to maintain moisture when including vegetables.

This dish is practical for a hands-off meal that produces tender beef and rich sauce ideal for family dinners. Serve sliced or shredded with the cooked vegetables and gravy spooned over.

For best results, allow the roast to cook fully until tender and ensure vegetables are pierced easily indicating doneness.
