Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken
Description
This Slow Cooker Teriyaki Chicken relies on a simple blend of marinade ingredients poured over chicken breasts and cooked in a slow cooker to achieve tenderness and flavor infusion. The sauce made from garlic, ginger, soy sauce, honey, brown sugar, sesame oil, and rice vinegar simmers together as the meat cooks, blending savory and sweet notes. After cooking, the chicken is shredded to absorb the sauce more thoroughly.
The sauce is strained and thickened with a cornstarch slurry, creating a glossy glaze that coats the shredded chicken evenly. Finishing touches of sesame seeds and sliced green onions add texture and a mild crunch. This preparation yields juicy chicken with a balanced teriyaki flavor, suited for casual meals.
Serving this chicken with rice or steamed vegetables works well to complete the meal. The slow cooker method frees time and develops deep flavor without constant attention, making it practical for home cooking. The recipe's straightforward approach uses common ingredients and techniques to produce a reliably tender dish.
