Slow Cooker Teriyaki Ribs
Description
This recipe uses a full rack of pork ribs seasoned with ground black pepper and cooked slowly in a mixture of teriyaki sauce prepared from soy sauce, mirin, and sugar brought to a boil with stirring. Ingredients
- 1 rack pork ribs about 2 pounds, baby size
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper ground
- 1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds garnish on top, roasted white
- 1 cup coleslaw for serving
Teriyaki Sauce
- 1/2 cup soy sauce reduced-sodium
- 3 tablespoons mirin Japanese sweet seasoning
- 1/4 cup sugar
Instructions
- Prepare teriyaki sauce by mixing soy sauce, mirin, and sugar in a cup. Pour the mixture into a saucepan and bring it to a boil. Stir continuously until the sugar has dissolved. Turn off the heat and set the sauce aside.
- Cut the ribs apart and place them in an Instant Pot (or a slow cooker). Evenly sprinkle ground black pepper on top and add 2/3 of the teriyaki sauce. Cover the pot and cook for 30 minutes in the Instant Pot or 4 hours on high in the slow cooker.
- Simmer the remaining teriyaki sauce with balsamic vinegar and garlic for 5 minutes over medium heat. Turn off the heat and transfer the mixture to a dish.
- Brush the sauce onto the cooked ribs and garnish with white sesame seeds before serving.
