Ingredients

Servings

Cookie Layer Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/4 cup white sugar + 2 Tablespoons
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar + 2 Tablespoons
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 24 Oreo cookies

Brownie layer:

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 9" x 9" baking dish and line with parchment paper.

For the cookie layer:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream together both sugars with softened butter, until light and fluffy (about 2 minutes).
  2. Mix in the egg and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing as you pour.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips to taste — anywhere from 1/2 cup to a cup.
  5. Press the chocolate chip cookie dough into the prepared baking dish.
  6. Top with a layer of OREO cookies (approximately 16) and set aside.

For the Brownie layer:

  1. In a large mixing bowl, cream the sugar and butter until light and fluffy.
  2. Mix in the eggs and vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate mixing bowl, stir together the cocoa powder, flour, salt and baking powder.
  4. Slowly add dry ingredients into the butter-sugar mixture, mixing as you pour.
  5. Scoop the brownie batter on top of your cookie layers, spreading until evenly distributed.
  6. Top with additional crushed OREOS.
  7. Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean (start checking at the 35 minute mark).
