Smoky Guacamole Recipe

Smoky Guacamole blends ripe avocados with minced red onion, garlic, ground cumin, and fresh lime juice, enhanced by chipotle peppers in adobo sauce and optional liquid smoke for a subtle smoky depth. The creamy texture of mashed avocado combined with the spicy and smoky flavors creates a rich and balanced dip.

Description

This Smoky Guacamole Recipe uses ripe avocados mashed with finely minced red onion and garlic for a creamy base with mild sharpness. Ground cumin adds an earthy undertone, while lime juice brightens and balances the flavors. The distinctive smoky quality comes from chopped chipotle peppers in adobo sauce mixed in, imparting a smoky heat that defines the guacamole's character. For an additional smoky note without increasing heat, a few drops of liquid smoke can be added according to preference.

The guacamole can be served immediately as a dip for chips or vegetables, or used as a topping for tacos, sandwiches, or grilled meats.

Chipotle peppers in adobo sauce are commercially available and contribute both heat and smokiness, while liquid smoke is sold near barbecue sauces for mild added smokiness.
