S'more Cupcakes
Description
This recipe starts with baked chocolate cupcakes that serve as a moist, chocolatey base. A thick layer of chocolate buttercream is piped or spread onto the cupcakes, providing a creamy, smooth frosting layer. Graham cracker crumbs are sprinkled on top for a crumbly texture reminiscent of traditional s’mores’ crust. Marshmallows are toasted under a broiler briefly until lightly browned and slightly soft, offering a melty yet caramelized topping. Each cupcake is finished with a honey-flavored Teddy Graham cookie and a rectangle of milk chocolate, adding additional crunch and chocolate notes.
The combination delivers a multi-textured dessert playing on familiar campfire s'mores components but in cupcake form, blending creamy, crunchy, and gooey elements. The broiling step is key to avoid burning and achieves the right toasted effect. The cupcakes are designed to be stored in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
This treat suits those wanting a nostalgic s'mores experience in individual portions without the need for roasting over an open flame. It blends convenience with classic flavors.
Ingredients
- 12 chocolate cupcake already baked
- 2 cups buttercream your favorite kind, chocolate flavor
- 1/2 cup graham cracker crumbs crushed
- 12 marshmallows Kraft Jet Puffed brand
- 12 Teddy Grahams honey flavored, Honey Maid brand
- 1 milk chocolate broken into 12 pieces, brand: Hershey
Instructions
- Use a Wilton tip 1M or 2D to pipe frosting on top of the cupcakes. Or, you can just use a knife to spread a thick layer of frosting on top.
- Sprinkle graham cracker crumbs on the tops of the cupcakes. This is optional, but it makes the cupcakes look so pretty.
- Place the marshmallows on a parchment paper lined baking sheet.
- Put the baking sheet on the top rack. Set the broiler to high and for about 1 minute on the first side. You're going for a very light toasted color to help seal in the sticky. Then turn them over and move the pan to a lower rack. Keep the oven door cracked open and broil for about 3-4 minutes. Watch them closely and take them out when they just start to show color. Watch them closely!! These will burn very quickly.
- Allow the marshmallows to cool for a minute or two, then move each marshmallow to the top of a cupcake.
- Put a Teddy Graham and a rectangle of Hershey bar on each marshmallow.
- Store the cupcakes in an airtight container.
