Soft Christmas Sprinkle Cookies
Description
This cookie recipe uses softened unsalted butter and sugar creamed until combined before adding eggs one at a time and vanilla extract. Dry ingredients—flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cream of tartar—are whisked then gradually mixed into the wet ingredients to form a dough. The dough is portioned into balls, rolled in colored sanding sugar, then gently pressed into thick disks before baking.
Baking at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 11 to 13 minutes ensures the cookies develop a light golden edge while remaining soft in the center. The sanding sugar coating adds a festive sparkle and slight crunch on the exterior without hardening the cookie.
These cookies offer a pleasant balance of sweetness and butter flavor, with a tender texture that stays soft enough to enjoy over several days if stored properly. They are suited for holiday gatherings or gift-giving.
