Ingredients
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- 2 tablespoon honey
- 4 cloves garlic diced
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- ½ cup soy sauce
Instructions
- Pat the wings dry with a paper towel. If they aren't separated into drumettes and flats, cut them apart.
- Mix wings with baking powder, salt, and garlic powder. Stir to coat with spices.
- Put the wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Air fry at 360 degrees F for 18 minutes.
- Flip, air fry at 400 degrees F for 6 more minutes.
- While the wings cook, combine honey, minced garlic, sesame oil, and soy sauce in a saucepan over low heat. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Toss the cooked wings with the soy garlic sauce.
Notes
- I prefer to buy wings already cut into flats and drumettes. But you can buy whole wings and cut them yourself. You can also cook the whole wings without cutting them apart.
- My 5.8-quart air fryer will hold 2 pounds of wings. You may need to cook your wings in batches if you have a smaller air fryer.
- If you like your wings a little sweeter, add extra honey. If you're craving more garlic flavor, throw in an extra clove or two. And if you want some heat, a pinch of red pepper flakes or a squirt of sriracha should do the trick.
- To make oven-baked wings, arrange your seasoned wings on a wire rack set over a baking sheet. Bake at 400°F for 40-50 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the skin is crispy and the meat is cooked through. Then, toss with the sauce as directed.
- While the sesame oil adds a nice nutty flavor to the sauce, it's not 100% necessary. If you don't have any on hand, you can simply omit it or replace it with another neutral oil (like vegetable or canola).
