Spaghetti with Meat Sauce

Spaghetti with Meat Sauce features ground beef cooked with aromatic onions, carrot, and celery, simmered in San Marzano tomatoes and optionally finished with white wine. The sauce is combined with cooked spaghetti and topped with shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese. This approach delivers a savory, balanced meat sauce with tender vegetables and a rich tomato base.

Description

This Spaghetti with Meat Sauce recipe layers flavors by sautéing chopped onion, carrot, and celery in olive oil to create a soffritto base. Ground beef is added and browned thoroughly before incorporating canned San Marzano tomatoes and water to build the sauce. A simmer allows the flavors to meld. Optionally, white wine may be added after browning the meat, then reduced to deepen the sauce's complexity. Seasonings include salt and pepper to taste.

The spaghetti is boiled separately until al dente, drained, and then tossed with the meat sauce to evenly coat the pasta. Topping the dish with shaved Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese provides a salty and nutty finish that complements the rich sauce.

This classic Italian-inspired meal is straightforward and filling, served as a main course. The combination of fresh vegetables in the sauce adds subtle sweetness and texture contrast to the savory meat and tangy tomato elements.
