  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 onion diced, large
  • 1 red bell pepper diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 ounce cans kidney bean rinsed and drained
  • 1 ounce can diced tomatoes
  • 1 ounce can tomato sauce

Instructions

  1. In a large pot over medium heat, cook the ground turkey until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Add the onion, red bell pepper, and garlic to the pot with the turkey and sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  3. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  4. Mix in the kidney beans, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low and cook, covered, for 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.
