Spicy Gochujang Mayo

Spicy Gochujang Mayo blends creamy mayonnaise with Korean chili paste for a tangy, mildly spicy orange sauce. Its balanced heat and hint of lime make it ideal as a dipping sauce, sandwich spread, or salad dressing. Adjusting the gochujang quantity allows control over its pungency to suit your taste preferences.

Description

Spicy Gochujang Mayo combines mayonnaise with gochujang, a Korean chili paste, enhanced by optional lime juice and seasoned with salt and black pepper. The sauce is whisked until smooth and uniformly colored, yielding a creamy texture with a vibrant orange hue and a moderate spiciness that can be adjusted. It is versatile for use as a dip, sandwich spread, or dressing for items such as tuna patties, schnitzel, fries, or salads. The optional lime juice adds bright acidity, complementing the rich mayo and spicy chili paste.

The sauce's flavor intensity depends on the amount of gochujang used, which can be increased gradually to reach the desired spice level without overpowering the mayonnaise base. The sauce’s creamy texture comes from the mayonnaise, and the optional lime juice enhances freshness unless using a tangier mayonnaise variant like Kewpie. This balance creates a tangy and spicy condiment well suited to add flavor dimensions to various dishes.
