Spicy Maple Glazed Salmon for Two!
Description
Spicy Maple Glazed Salmon for Two features wild salmon filets coated with a glaze made from pure maple syrup, reduced sodium soy sauce, Dijon mustard, chili powder, cayenne pepper, and minced garlic. The salmon is arranged on parchment-lined baking sheet to prevent burning of glaze and baked at 350°F for approximately 15-20 minutes, depending on filet thickness, until it flakes easily. The glaze creates a sweet and spicy outer layer that infuses the salmon with bold flavors while maintaining a tender interior. After baking, an additional tablespoon of reserved glaze is brushed on the hot salmon to enhance the shine and flavor intensity. This preparation offers a blend of smoky heat balanced with maple sweetness, highlighting the natural taste of salmon in a straightforward recipe suited for smaller servings.
Ingredients
- 2 - 6 oz salmon wild, filet, 12 oz total
- 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce reduced sodium
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 garlic clove, minced
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line a small baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent the glaze from burning. Place salmon filets 2 inches apart on parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, whisk together maple syrup, soy sauce, dijon mustard, chili powder, cayenne pepper and garlic. Pour or generously brush the glaze over the salmon, reserving 1 tablespoon for glazing once salmon is done. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until salmon is done and flakes with a fork. For every inch of salmon filet thickness, you’ll need to bake for 15 minutes. Usually 18 minutes is perfect for me.
- Once salmon is done baking, remove from oven and pour remaining glaze on top. Enjoy! Serves 2.
Notes
- Preheat the oven properly and use parchment paper to prevent glaze from burning during baking.
- Adjust baking time based on the thickness of the salmon filets, aiming for salmon that flakes easily with a fork.
- Brush on reserved glaze after baking to boost flavor and presentation.
