Spicy Pineapple Jalapeno Mezcalita

This Spicy Pineapple Jalapeno Mezcalita blends smoky mezcal infused with fresh jalapeño heat, bright lime juice, and sweet pineapple juice balanced by herbal cilantro notes. The drink layers smoky, fruity, and spicy flavors for a refreshing cocktail with a kick. Quick infusion of jalapeños in mezcal intensifies the spice level, which you can adjust. The fresh pineapple and lime lighten and add vibrancy, creating a complex yet balanced beverage ideal for warm weather or gatherings.

Description

The preparation begins by infusing mezcal with thinly sliced jalapeños for 15 to 20 minutes to extract spice and flavor, with longer infusion yielding more heat. Meanwhile, cilantro leaves are gently muddled to release their aroma and combined with orange liqueur and fresh lime juice, then strained into a pitcher. The poured-through spicy mezcal and pineapple juice are added and stirred thoroughly to marry the elements.

Served over ice in glasses, the cocktail is garnished with fresh pineapple wedges, jalapeño slices, and cilantro leaves for visual appeal and additional flavor notes. This balance between smoky mezcal, fiery jalapeño, citrus brightness, and tropical sweetness creates a layered cocktail experience.

Adjust infusion time based on preferred spiciness, and serve immediately to enjoy the fresh, vibrant flavors at their best.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 3 ounces mezcal
  • 1 jalapeño sliced thinly - plus more as a garnish, small
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur
  • 1/2 lime juice freshly squeezed, 1 cup
  • 1 1/2 cups pineapple juice
  • 1 tablespoon cilantro plus more as garnish 1 1/2 cups pineapple juice, fresh leaves
  • 2 pineapple wedges
  • ice

Instructions

  1. Place Mezcal Creyente in a jar. Add in the jalapeño slices, put the lid on and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. The longer it sits the spicier it will get. If you like it spicier, feel free to let it sit longer.
  2. Gently muddle cilantro in a large glass just enough to release its essential oils. Add in the orange liquor, lime juice and cilantro and give it a mix. Strain it into a pitcher.
  3. Strain the jalapeño flavored Mezcal and pineapple juice into the same pitcher and stir well.
  4. Pour the drink into glasses filled with ice. Garnish with fresh pineapple, a few slices of jalapenos, and fresh cilantro leaves. Serve immediately.
