Spinach and Feta Turkey Burgers
Description
This recipe blends 93% lean ground turkey with thawed spinach, crumbled feta cheese, minced garlic, lemon juice, and seasonings to form a mixture that is shaped into four patties. The spinach adds moisture and mild earthiness while feta contributes a tangy, salty depth. The lemon juice and garlic enhance the overall flavor profile without overpowering the turkey’s mild taste.
The patties are pan-fried in olive oil over medium-high heat until cooked thoroughly and browned outside, providing both juiciness and a savory crust. The combination yields a tender but structurally sound burger that holds well on a bun.
For serving, whole wheat buns are prepared with sliced tomatoes, lettuce leaves, cucumber slices, and a dollop of tzatziki sauce, introducing freshness and creamy cooling contrast to the savory patties. This assembly offers a balanced texture with crisp vegetables complementing the rich turkey and cheese.
Ground chicken can substitute for turkey, and bread choice can vary. Frozen spinach works fine if excess moisture is removed before mixing.
