Spinach Feta Turkey Burgers

Report
Spinach Feta Turkey Burgers blend ground turkey with finely diced spinach, red onion, and feta cheese, seasoned with a ranch packet. The mixture is formed into patties and pan-cooked until reaching a safe internal temperature, then served on broiled brioche or pretzel buns. This blend of ingredients offers a moist, flavorful burger that holds together well when the greens and onion are minced finely.

Description

Spinach Feta Turkey Burgers combine ground turkey with chopped spinach and red onion, which must be finely diced to prevent the patties from falling apart during cooking. Crumbled feta and ranch seasoning add a tangy and savory note to the mixture. The burgers are pan-fried until cooked through and rested briefly while the buns are broiled until golden and toasted. Optional extra feta or sliced cheese can be added near the end of cooking for creaminess.

The burgers have a moist texture with a mild tang from the feta and ranch seasoning, complemented by the fresh spinach and onion. Cooking in a skillet allows for a nicely browned exterior. Serving on toasted brioche or pretzel buns enhances the texture contrast.

For assembling, toppings include fresh tomato slices, butter lettuce, spicy pickles, and red onion, along with mayonnaise and ranch dressing to complement the flavors. These burgers can be stored separately in the refrigerator before assembling to preserve freshness.

To grill instead of pan-fry, use tinfoil to keep patties intact due to the moist and crumbly filling. Store cooked patties in an airtight container and assemble with buns and toppings just before serving.

Ingredients

Servings

Burgers

  • 1 lb ground turkey 93%/7% works great
  • ¼ cup onion red, chopped
  • ¼ cup spinach chopped
  • ¼ cup feta cheese
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning dry
  • 4 buns brioche bun or pretzel bun

Toppings & Condiments

  • Roma tomato sliced
  • butter lettuce
  • pickle spears spicy
  • red onion fresh or sautéed
  • mayonnaise
  • feta cheese crumbled
  • ranch dressing

Instructions

  1. Combine feta, ground turkey, ranch packet, diced red onion, and spinach in a mixing bowl. Note: it's crucial that the spinach and onion is diced finely. If it is too large, the burgers risk falling apart while cooking.
  2. Fold together, and form into 4 burger patties ~½ inch thick.
  3. Grease a skillet and heat stove to medium-high. Add the patties and cook for 4-5 minutes per side or until burgers reach 165°F.
  4. Add sliced cheese or more crumbled feta 1 minute before burgers are removed from heat
  5. Once burgers are cooked through, let them rest while you broil sliced and oiled buns for 2-3 minutes until golden.
  6. Add the suggested toppings or toppings of choice and enjoy!!

Notes

  • Dice spinach and onion finely to ensure burgers hold together during cooking.
  • Store cooked burgers separately in an airtight container in the refrigerator before assembling with buns and toppings.
  • When grilling, use tinfoil to prevent burgers from falling apart due to the mixture's moisture.
