St. Patrick’s Day Cookies

St. Patrick’s Day Cookies are made by mixing a white cake mix with oil, eggs, and green food coloring to form a sticky dough. The dough is chilled, then rolled into balls coated first in granulated sugar and then in powdered sugar before baking. The result is sweet, soft cookies with a festive green color and a sparkly sugary exterior, suitable for celebrating the holiday.

Description

This holiday cookie recipe uses a white cake mix as a base, combined with vegetable oil and eggs, then tinted with Kelly green gel food coloring to achieve a vibrant color. After chilling the dough to firm it up, it is shaped into balls and coated in two layers of sugar—first granulated, then powdered—before baking at 350 degrees Fahrenheit. The dual sugar coating adds a textured, sweet crust contrasting with the soft cookie interior. Baking for 9 to 12 minutes and resting on the sheet before transferring helps maintain their tenderness.

These cookies are ideal for St. Patrick’s Day celebrations or any time green baked treats are desired. They can be stored in an airtight container and maintain their softness after cooling.
