Ingredients
- ½ cup butter softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- ½ cup Greek yogurt
- ¼ cup milk
- 1 ½ cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
- 2 teaspoons Red food coloring
Icing
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- ⅓ cup heavy whipping cream
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- Using an electric mixer, cream the butter and sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
- Whip in the eggs, vanilla extract, yogurt and milk.
- Whisk together the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in another bowl.
- Mix the dry ingredients into the wet.
- Separate the batter into two more or less equal portions. Add the cocoa powder and red food coloring to one portion of the batter.
- Add the two batters alternately to a parchment-lined loaf pan. Then, Using a butter knife, swirl the batters together.
- Bake for 30-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Set aside to cool completely.
- Whisk together the powdered sugar, heavy whipping cream, and vanilla extract to make the icing.
- Pour the icing over the loaf.
- Remove from pan and slice to serve.
Notes
- Some red coloring has a slight aftertaste. Make sure you use food coloring labeled "no taste red."
- If you notice the top of your loaf is browning too quickly, create a tent out of aluminum foil and loosely cover it. This will prevent it from burning while still allowing the inside to cook through.
- You can also make a cream cheese frosting if you prefer.
- You can make this as cupcakes. Just divide the batter evenly into a lined cupcake tin and bake for 18-20 minutes until a toothpick inserted into the center comes clean.
