Strawberry Mandarin Orange Dump Cake

Strawberry Mandarin Orange Dump Cake combines canned mandarin oranges and strawberry pie filling layered beneath a dry yellow cake mix and melted butter. Baked until bubbly and golden brown, this easy dessert layers bright fruit flavor under a crisp, buttery cake topping. It's a convenient, fruit-forward dessert requiring minimal preparation.

Description

The Strawberry Mandarin Orange Dump Cake starts by evenly spreading drained mandarin oranges in a greased 9x13-inch pan. Strawberry pie filling is then dolloped and spread over the oranges, providing a sweet and slightly tart fruit base. A dry yellow cake mix is sprinkled over the fruit filling, covering the pan completely, which will form the cake's top crust.

Generous drizzles of melted butter over the cake mix melt into the dry ingredients during baking to produce a moist, crisp topping reminiscent of a cobbler or crisp. Baking at 350 degrees for about 55 minutes allows the fruit juices to bubble up around the edges while the cake mix browns to a golden finish. The result is a dessert with a juicy, sweet-tart fruit layer under a crunchy, buttery crumb crust.

This dump cake is straightforward to prepare without mixing batter, making it a convenient option for a casual dessert. After cooling, it can be scooped and served on its own or with cream or ice cream.
