  • 2 ounces white tequila
  • 1 ounce lime juice fresh is best!
  • 1 ounce strawberry simple syrup recipe below
  • strawberries to garnish, fresh; slice for lime
  • lime to garnish, fresh; slice for lime

Strawberry Simple Syrup

  • 1 cup strawberries chopped
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water

Instructions

  1. Begin by making the strawberry simple syrup. Add the strawberries, sugar, and water to a small pot over medium-high heat. Bring the pot to a boil then reduce the heat and simmer for 10 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool. Strain it through a fine-mesh sieve then skim off any foam from the top of the syrup.
  2. Wet the rim of a glass with a slice of lime and then dip it into salt. Fill the glass with ice.
  3. Put a handful of ice into a cocktail shaker or jar then add the tequila, lime juice, and strawberry simple syrup.
  4. Stir until it's cold and then strain it into your prepared glass. Garnish with strawberries and a lime slice.
