Strawberry Pretzel Salad
Description
This Strawberry Pretzel Salad starts with a baked pretzel crust made from crushed salted pretzels mixed with melted butter and sugar, which provides a buttery, salty base with a crisp bite. The filling consists of softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and thawed frozen whipped topping beaten until smooth and creamy, then spread over the cooled crust and chilled until firm.
The top layer is made by dissolving strawberry gelatin in boiling water, mixing in thinly sliced fresh strawberries, and chilling until set atop the filling. This final layer adds a bright, fruity, and slightly firm texture that balances the creamy filling and crunchy crust.
The dessert is served chilled and best stored tightly covered in the refrigerator, where it remains fresh for 3 to 4 days, allowing the layers to meld without losing their distinct textures.
