Strawberry Sauce

Strawberry Sauce is made by simmering fresh chopped strawberries with sugar until softened and juicy, then thickening with cornstarch slurry and vanilla extract. The resulting sauce is sweet, fruity, and slightly thickened, suitable for drizzling over desserts or pancakes either warm or chilled.

Description

This strawberry sauce recipe cooks fresh strawberries chopped into pieces with granulated sugar over medium heat until the berries soften and release their juices. The simmering process takes 15 to 25 minutes depending on berry and pan size.

A mixture of cornstarch and water is added while the sauce is simmering to thicken the liquid to a syrupy consistency. Vanilla extract added at the end contributes a subtle aromatic note. The sauce can be served warm or cooled in the refrigerator for later use.

Its vibrant natural strawberry flavor and balance of sweetness provide a versatile topping for a variety of desserts such as ice cream, cakes, waffles, or pancakes, highlighting the fresh berry taste with a smooth, slightly thickened texture.
