Strawberry Sauce
Description
This sauce starts with one pint of chopped strawberries simmered with sugar and a hint of vanilla extract, cooking over medium-high heat until the fruit softens and enough liquid is released to form a syrup. Pureeing half of the sauce and mixing it back maintains a balance between smoothness and chunks, offering a pleasant mouthfeel and rich strawberry flavor without losing the fresh fruit texture.
The sauce can be refrigerated to thicken further and is versatile for serving on ice cream, pancakes, yogurt, or desserts needing a fruity topping. Keeping it chilled preserves its freshness and color, while an airtight container prevents odor absorption.
The recipe also allows for freezing in freezer-safe containers to extend shelf life for up to 6 to 8 months. Proper thawing before use ensures the best texture.
Ingredients
- 1 pint strawberry chopped
- ⅓ cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Notes
- Store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator to maintain freshness.
- Can be made ahead and refrigerated for 3-5 days before serving.
