Ingredients

Servings

For the strawberries:

  • 6 Cups strawberry quartered
  • 1/4 Cup sugar granulated white
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract

For the whipped cream:

  • 1 Cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 Tablespoons sugar granulated white
  • 1 Teaspoon vanilla extract

For the shortcake:

  • 8 Biscuits homemade

Instructions

For the strawberries:

  1. In a medium sized mixing bowl, stir together the quartered strawberries, 1/4 granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of vanilla. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes or up to 48 hours.

For the whipped cream:

  1. In a large bowl, add the heavy cream, sugar and vanilla extract. Whip on high using a handheld electric mixer until soft peaks form. Cover and store in the refrigerator until ready to use.

To assemble:

  1. Slice a biscuit in half and layer it with strawberries and whipped cream, place on the top and layer with more strawberries and whipped cream. Serve immediately
