Strawberry S'mores
Description
Strawberry S'mores incorporate the traditional flavor pairing of graham crackers, chocolate, and marshmallows with the addition of fresh strawberries. In this recipe, halved graham crackers are topped with chunks of bittersweet chocolate, followed by sliced strawberries and large marshmallows. The assembled stacks are briefly broiled until the marshmallows puff and toast, melting the chocolate underneath. Finally, another graham cracker square is pressed on top to form a sandwich. The resulting treat combines the richness of melted chocolate and marshmallow with the fresh acidity and juiciness of strawberries, while the graham crackers provide a crunchy contrast.
The method involves carefully broiling the marshmallow to achieve a toasted exterior without burning, which creates a gooey, sweet filling. This dessert is ideal for a quick sweet fix or a convenient indoor alternative to traditional campfire s'mores.
Ingredients
- 6 graham crackers
- 1 bittersweet chocolate bar
- 6 marshmallows large
- 6 strawberries hulled and sliced
Instructions
- Heat your grill over medium heat or turn your oven to broil. Line a quarter sheet baking tray with parchment paper.
- Break graham crackers in half and place on a quarter sheet baking tray.
- Break up chocolate bars in two piece chunks and center them on the graham crackers.
- Top each with sliced strawberries, followed by a marshmallow.
- Broil until the marshmallow melts, about 1-2 minutes, keeping a close eye on them since they can burn quickly.
- Once the marshmallows are toasted to your liking, remove the pan and press another graham cracker square down on each stack.
