Stuffed Shells recipe
Description
Stuffed Shells recipe fills large pasta shells with a flavorful blend of ricotta, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, fresh parsley and basil, salt, and pepper. The shells are partially cooked, then filled with the cheese mixture and arranged in a baking dish lined with marinara sauce. Additional sauce is poured on top and shredded mozzarella cheese covers the assembled dish. Baking melts the cheese and unites the flavors while allowing the pasta to finish cooking gently.
The result is tender pasta filled with creamy, herb-infused cheese and smothered in tomato sauce with a bubbly, melted mozzarella topping. The garlic and fresh herbs lend brightness and aromatic notes that complement the rich cheeses and tomato sauce.
This dish suits a main course paired with a simple salad or crusty bread to soak up the sauce. It can be prepared ahead and baked when ready, making it convenient for entertaining or family dinners.
