Sugar Cookie Fruit Pizza Recipe
Description
The Sugar Cookie Fruit Pizza Recipe begins with a package of sugar cookie dough pressed into a pizza pan and baked until golden and set. After cooling, the base is topped with a creamy mixture of softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and heavy cream, beaten until smooth for a luscious texture. The dessert is then adorned with an assortment of fresh fruits including sliced strawberries, blueberries, kiwi, and clementine segments. This variety of fruits adds bright color and a mix of sweet and tart flavors that complement the rich cream cheese layer.
The juicy fresh fruits rest atop the chilled creamy layer, creating a balance of textures between the soft, chewy cookie crust and the smooth, cool topping. The fruit pizza is sliced into wedges for serving, making it easy to share at parties or festive occasions.
This dessert's presentation is enhanced by the assortment of fruit, and it benefits from refrigeration to help the cream cheese spread set firmly before slicing. The recipe allows some flexibility in fruit choice and can be adapted to seasonal options or personal preferences.
Ingredients
- (1) 16.5 oz. sugar cookie dough package
- 8 oz cream cheese softened, package
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons heavy whipping cream
- Fruit fresh strawberries, fresh blueberries, kiwi and clementines, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325.
- Grease a pizza pan with nonstick cooking spray. Spread dough into prepared pan. I like to put my hand into a sandwich bag and spray the bag with cooking spray and press the dough into the pan. You may need to add additional cooking spray to the bag on your hand as you spread the dough.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown and center is set. Cool completely.
- Beat cream cheese, sugar and cream together until smooth with a hand mixer. Spread onto cookie. Top with sliced strawberries, blueberries, sliced kiwi and orange sections. Refrigerate until ready to serve. Cut into pizza size slices and serve.
Notes
- For easier spreading, chill the cookie base completely before adding the cream cheese topping.
- Choose fresh, ripe fruit for best flavor and appearance on top.
- Let kids decorate their own slices with preferred fruit toppings to make it interactive.
- Store any leftovers covered in the refrigerator and consume within a couple of days for freshness.
