Super-Good Chili with Beer

This Super-Good Chili combines browned ground beef with onions, garlic, spices, canned tomatoes, beans, diced green chiles, and beer to develop deep, robust flavors. Simmered until thick and melded, the chili has a hearty texture punctuated by the beans and chili heat, balanced by the malty undertones from the beer. It's served warm, garnished with cheese to add a creamy contrast.

Description

The chili begins by browning ground beef in canola oil, then cooking onion and garlic until softened. Cumin is added for aroma before stirring in diced tomatoes, pinto and kidney beans, diced green chiles, hot pepper sauce, salt, and a bottle of beer. The mixture is brought to a boil and then simmered for 20 minutes, allowing the flavors to marry and the chili to thicken.

Its texture is hearty with tender beans and seasoned beef, while the green chiles and hot sauce provide a moderate heat complemented by the richness from the beer addition. Topped with cheese, each serving offers a balance of savory, spicy, and slightly tangy notes.

This chili is suited for casual meals, served warm as a filling main dish, and pairs well with cornbread or tortillas if desired. It benefits from a resting period so the flavors can deepen before serving.
