Ingredients

Servings
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 packet or 2 tablespoon taco seasoning
  • ¾ cup water
  • 2 cups white rice cooked
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon cumin
  • 1 cup nacho cheese sauce
  • 1 cup cheese cheddar, Monterey Jack, mozzarella, shredded three-cheese blend
  • 1 cup tortilla strips crispy
  • 4 flour tortilla large
  • ½ cup sour cream

Instructions

Step No.1: Cook the Beef

  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease. Stir in taco seasoning and water, then simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened.

Step No.2: Prepare the Rice

  1. In a separate bowl, mix the cooked white rice with salt and cumin. Stir well to season the rice.

Step No.3: Warm the Tortillas

  1. Heat the flour tortillas in a dry pan or microwave for 10-15 seconds to make them pliable.

Step No.4: Assemble the Burritos

  1. Lay each tortilla flat and spread ¼ cup of seasoned rice in the center. Add ¼ of the cooked beef, 2 tablespoons nacho cheese sauce, ¼ cup shredded three-cheese blend, and ¼ cup crispy tortilla strips. Drizzle with sour cream.

Step No.5: Fold and Seal

  1. Fold the sides of the tortilla inward, then roll tightly from the bottom up to seal the burrito.

Step No.6: Toast for Extra Flavor (Optional)

  1. For a crispy texture, heat a dry skillet over medium heat and toast the burritos for 1-2 minutes per side until golden brown.

Step No.7: Serve & Enjoy

  1. Slice in half and serve warm with salsa, guacamole, or extra nacho cheese sauce!

Notes

  • Crispy Strips Alternative: Crushed tortilla chips work if you don’t have tortilla strips.
  • Spicy Kick: Add hot sauce or diced jalapeños for extra heat.
  • Make It Lighter: Use lean ground turkey and low-fat cheese for a healthier version.
  • Extra Cheesy: Add an extra layer of melted shredded cheese before rolling the burrito.
  • Steak Melt Burrito: Swap ground beef for grilled steak strips.
  • Chicken Melt Burrito: Use shredded or grilled chicken instead of beef.
  • Veggie Melt Burrito: Replace beef with black beans and extra cheese.
  • Buffalo Melt Burrito: Drizzle buffalo sauce inside for a tangy twist.
  • Double-Decker Burrito: Wrap the burrito in a second tortilla with a layer of melted cheese in between for extra indulgence.
