Taco Pie Recipe

This Taco Pie layers seasoned ground beef and green chiles topped with a milk, egg, and Bisquick batter, baked until golden and finished with melted Mexican cheese. The pie is garnished with fresh lettuce, tomato, and sour cream, providing a balance of savory and fresh flavors with a soft, slightly fluffy texture from the topping that sets it apart from traditional tacos.

Description

The Taco Pie begins with browning lean ground beef, seasoned with taco spices, and combined with green chiles for added flavor and mild heat. This meaty layer is placed in a greased pie plate, then covered with a mixture of milk, eggs, and Bisquick that bakes into a light, cake-like topping. After an initial bake of 30 minutes, shredded Mexican cheese is sprinkled over the pie and baked further until melted and bubbly, creating a cheesy crust.

Once baked and slightly cooled, the pie is topped with fresh garnishes such as lettuce, tomato, and sour cream, adding crispness and creaminess to each serving. This dish offers a convenient way to enjoy taco flavors in a pie format, suitable for casual meals or gatherings.
