Ingredients

Servings
  • flank steak thinly sliced against the grain
  • cornstarch 2 tablespoons
  • vegetable oil
  • red bell pepper thinly sliced
  • broccoli florets
  • garlic 3 cloves, minced
  • fresh ginger 1 tablespoon, grated
  • soy sauce ¼ cup
  • water
  • honey
  • rice vinegar
  • hoisin sauce
  • corn starch mixed with water to make slurry
  • sesame oil
  • sesame seeds optional, for garnish
  • green onion chopped, optional, for garnish

Instructions

Prepare the Beef:

  1. In a medium bowl, toss the thinly sliced flank steak with cornstarch until evenly coated.

Make the Teriyaki Glaze:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, water, honey, rice vinegar, and hoisin sauce.
  2. In a separate small bowl, mix the cornstarch and water to make a slurry.

Cook the Beef:

  1. In a large skillet or wok, heat 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the coated beef to the skillet and stir-fry until browned and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Remove the beef from the skillet and set aside.

Cook the Vegetables:

  1. In the same skillet, heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil.
  2. Add the broccoli florets, sliced red bell pepper, minced garlic, and grated ginger.
  3. Stir-fry until the vegetables are tender-crisp, about 4-5 minutes.

Combine Everything:

  1. Return the cooked beef to the skillet with the vegetables.
  2. Pour the teriyaki glaze over the beef and vegetables.
  3. Add the cornstarch slurry to the skillet and stir to coat everything evenly with the glaze.
  4. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.

Serve:

  1. Drizzle with sesame oil and sprinkle with sesame seeds and chopped green onions if desired.
  2. Serve the Teriyaki Glazed Beef Stir-Fry with steamed rice or noodles.
