Texas Roadhouse Chili

Report
Texas Roadhouse Chili features hearty stew meat simmered with aromatic onions, garlic, and a blend of spices including chili powder, cumin, and smoked paprika. The chili combines crushed tomatoes and kidney beans, thickened with cornmeal for a rich texture. It's finished with cheddar cheese and green onions, adding a creamy and fresh contrast. This chili offers a balanced hearty and slightly smoky flavor making it suitable for a comforting meal on cooler days.

Description

Texas Roadhouse Chili brings together tender stew meat cut into bite-sized pieces, sautéed with diced white onion and garlic to develop a flavorful base. A robust seasoning mix of chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, Italian seasoning, and brown sugar coats the meat, complemented by crushed tomatoes and red kidney beans for body and richness. The addition of white vinegar adds a mild tang that brightens the overall flavor. Cornmeal is stirred in and simmered slowly to thicken the chili, creating a satisfying and hearty consistency.

The chili's flavor profile includes smoky and earthy tones from the smoked paprika and cumin that blend with the slight sweetness from brown sugar. The cheddar cheese topping melts over the warm chili, while sliced green onions contribute freshness and texture contrast. The chili can be served alone or with sides such as cornbread or crackers.

Simmering the chili allows the flavors to meld and the meat to tenderize. Letting it rest briefly after cooking helps the chili thicken slightly. Adding the cheese and green onions just before serving ensures they retain their distinctive texture and flavor impact.
