Thai Basil Chicken Lettuce Wraps
Description
Thai Basil Chicken Lettuce Wraps bring together ground chicken sautéed in sesame oil with garlic and ginger for foundational flavor. The sauce, consisting of Thai sweet chili sauce, tamari, and water, simmers until slightly thickened, coating the chicken with a blend of sweet, salty, and mild heat. Finely chopped basil added at the end infuses the filling with fresh herbal notes. Serving this filling in bibb lettuce cups offers crispness that contrasts the tender, saucy chicken, making for an enjoyable textural interplay.
The recipe suggests garnishing with additional toppings such as sliced peppers, lime wedges, extra basil, almonds, or sriracha, enhancing both texture and flavor according to taste. This assembly allows each diner to customize their wraps and adds brightness and crunch that complement the savory filling.
