Thai Chicken Meatballs

These Thai Chicken Meatballs mix ground chicken with fresh cilantro, grated ginger, lemongrass paste, and minced garlic to create a fragrant and savory bite. The meatballs are browned in a skillet before finishing in a hot oven, resulting in a tender texture with a flavorful golden crust. The combination of breadcrumbs and finely diced onion helps hold the meatballs together and adds moisture. This recipe offers a practical way to prepare Asian-inspired meatballs that can be frozen, reheated, or enhanced with optional ingredients like fish sauce or lime juice to adjust the flavor.

Description

Thai Chicken Meatballs bring together ground chicken seasoned with aromatic ingredients such as ginger, lemongrass paste, cilantro, and garlic. Mixing these with breadcrumbs and finely diced onion helps create meatballs that are cohesive and tender. Initially browned in a skillet with vegetable oil to develop color, they are then baked at 400°F to ensure they cook through evenly and maintain juiciness. The mix of spices and herbs gives a bright, fresh flavor characteristic of Thai cuisine.

The texture balances a crisp exterior from pan-searing and a moist interior from baking. This two-step cooking process helps lock in flavor while providing a satisfying bite. These meatballs serve well as appetizers or additions to salads and rice dishes.

Freezing instructions allow for convenient make-ahead options; raw meatballs can be frozen on a baking sheet before storage, and cooked meatballs also freeze well for reheating later. Optional additions such as green onions, fish or soy sauce, and fresh lime juice can be incorporated to tailor the umami and brightness of the dish.
