Thai Fish Cakes

These Thai Fish Cakes are made from salmon mixed with panko crumbs, egg, red curry paste, and cilantro, shaped into patties and pan-fried until golden brown. The patties have a firm and lightly spiced texture, complemented by the fresh herbal note of cilantro. Served with Thai cucumber salad and sweet chili sauce, they offer a balanced combination of savory, spicy, and fresh flavors.

Description

Thai Fish Cakes feature salmon packets combined with breadcrumb binding, egg to hold the mixture, red curry paste for a mild spicy depth, and cilantro for fresh herbal flavor. The patties are shaped and cooked in olive oil until cooked through and lightly browned, giving a crisp exterior and moist interior. This cooking method produces cakes that are flavorful yet tender.

Serving these fish cakes with a cool cucumber salad and a sweet chili dipping sauce adds contrast in temperature, texture, and taste, enhancing the eating experience. The combination of mild heat, freshness, and sweetness makes these suitable for an appetizer or light meal.

The recipe is approachable, requiring only standard ingredients and no complex preparation. Forming patties with damp hands helps manage the fish mixture, and pan-frying is straightforward without specialized equipment.
