Thai Lettuce Wraps

Thai Lettuce Wraps combine ground chicken cooked with fresh vegetables like shredded cabbage, carrot, and red bell pepper, all flavored with garlic, ginger, lemongrass, and Thai red curry paste. The mixture is tossed with a tangy sauce made from lime juice, soy sauce, and toasted sesame oil, topped with chopped cashews and herbs, and served in crisp bibb lettuce leaves. This creates a flavorful, slightly crunchy filling wrapped in refreshing lettuce, suitable for light meals or appetizers.

Description

The Thai Lettuce Wraps recipe features ground chicken sautéed with shredded red cabbage, julienned carrot, and thinly sliced red bell pepper, accented by minced garlic, ginger, and lemongrass for a fresh, aromatic base. The filling is then combined with a sauce made from lime juice, soy sauce, Thai red curry paste, and toasted sesame oil, which adds both tanginess and warmth. Chopped cashews provide a crunchy texture, while fresh cilantro and green onions add brightness to the mixture.

The dish is served by spooning the flavorful mixture into bibb lettuce leaves, creating a handheld wrap with crisp, fresh lettuce juxtaposed against a savory, mildly spiced filling. This makes for an appealing, flavorful bite that balances textures and flavors without heavy sauces.

These wraps work well as a light lunch or appetizer and can be prepared ahead with the filling refrigerated and lettuce leaves washed and drained. Serving immediately preserves the crispness of the lettuce and the freshness of the herbs.
