The Best Air Fryer Chips
Description
This recipe begins by cutting potatoes into thin fries, leaving the skin on, then soaking them in cold water to remove surface starch for fluffier interiors. After patting them dry, the fries are coated evenly in olive oil, sea salt, ground pepper, and garlic granules for seasoning.
They are placed in an air fryer preheated to 200°C (about 400°F) and cooked for approximately 20 minutes. The fries are shaken after 5 minutes and intermittently throughout cooking to promote uniform cooking and crisping. The garlic granules add a subtle aromatic note without overpowering the natural potato flavor.
These air fryer chips are well-suited as a side dish to various meals or as a snack. For thicker fries, cooking time can be extended roughly 4 minutes. They can be customized with additional toppings like Parmesan cheese added near the end of cooking for extra indulgence.
For consistent results, ensure the fries are cut to similar size for even cooking and the air fryer is preheated before adding the potatoes. Adjust oil quantity proportionally to potato amounts.
