  • 2 apple
  • 2 (8 ounce) cans crescent roll dough refrigerated
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • cinnamon to taste
  • 12 ounces 7-Up or Sprite, or Mountain Dew

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Peel and core apples and cut into 8 slices each.
  2. Roll each apple slice in a crescent roll.
  3. Place in a 9 x 13 pan lined with cooking spray.
  4. Melt butter in a large bowl. Stir in sugar, then vanilla.
  5. Pour the entire mixture over the wrapped apples. 
  6. Pour 7-Up (or preferred soda) around the edges of the pan.
  7. Sprinkle with cinnamon and bake for 40 minutes. 
  8. Remove from oven. Spoon sauce from the pan over the dumplings when serving.
  9. Optional: Top with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.

Notes

  • Reheat leftovers covered in the oven at 350°F for 15-20 minutes to warm through evenly.
