The BEST Fluffy Slime Recipe

Report
This fluffy slime recipe uses white school glue, acrylic paint for color, shaving cream to create volume, and liquid starch as an activator. The process involves mixing the glue and paint, folding in shaving cream for fluffiness, then adding liquid starch gradually until the slime clumps and can be kneaded. The result is a soft, light, stretchy slime that holds its shape well with a pleasing texture different from standard slime.

Description

The BEST Fluffy Slime Recipe combines common craft ingredients to produce slime with a particularly airy texture. Starting with white school glue mixed with satin acrylic paint provides color and a smooth base. Adding fluffy white shaving cream introduces air and volume, making the slime lighter and puffier than typical glue-based slime. The liquid starch initiates the slime formation by activating the glue polymers, causing the mixture to clump together and solidify.

Mixing all components in a large bowl is necessary because the shaving cream expands the base considerably. Kneading after mixing with the starch ensures the slime reaches the right consistency—soft, stretchy, and minimally sticky. Extra starch can be added cautiously if stickiness persists. The fluffy texture allows for easy handling and play, making this particular slime suitable for sensory activities or crafting fun.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 cups Elmer's white school glue
  • Satin acrylic paint as needed
  • 1 cup fluffy white shaving cream
  • 1/3 cup liquid starch

Instructions

  1. Pour glue into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Add acrylic paint to glue and stir until the color is well blended.
  3. Once the paint is completely mixed into the glue, add shaving cream and stir to mix. The shaving cream will cause the glue to "fluff" up a lot, which is why you want to use a large mixing bowl.
  4. Add liquid starch to bowl and mix - slime will start to clump together immediately. Start with 1/3 cup liquid starch, then gradually add more if needed.
  5. Finish by kneading slime by hand. If slime is still sticky after a couple minutes of kneading, add a touch more liquid starch.
  6. When your slime is fluffy and doesn't stick very much to hands, it's ready to play!
