The BEST Hugo Spritz Cocktails
Description
This cocktail starts by muddling mint leaves and lime slices with ice to release the mint oils and lime juice, forming a fragrant base. Elderflower syrup adds a gentle floral sweetness, complemented by crisp prosecco or white sparkling wine which introduces bubbles and brightness. A splash of sparkling water lightens the drink and ties the flavors together.
The resulting beverage is a delicate, bubbly spritz with fresh herbal notes and citrus tang. It’s stirred gently after assembly and garnished with additional mint for aroma. It is not suitable for storage and should be served immediately to maintain freshness and fizz.
This drink is best enjoyed as a light aperitif or alongside light fare, offering a refreshing contrast to heavier dishes or warm temperatures. Adjust elderflower syrup quantity for preferred sweetness.
