The Classic Margarita Recipe
Description
This Classic Margarita Recipe starts by mixing fresh lime juice with simple syrup to create the cocktail's tart and sweet base. The prepared mixture is then poured over crushed ice in glasses, leaving room for tequila and triple sec, which add complexity and smoothness. By measuring 1.5 ounces of tequila per glass and adding triple sec in a small amount, the drink balances strength and flavor.
Serving the margarita over abundant crushed ice chills the drink thoroughly and dilutes it slightly over time for a smoother experience. Optional glass rims rubbed with lime and dipped in salt or sugar add a flavorful contrast with each sip. Garnishing with a lime wedge enhances presentation and allows extra citrus aroma.
Ingredients
- 1 cup lime fresh squeezed juice
- 1 cup simple syrup
- 9 oz tequila good
- ¼ cup triple sec
- lime wedge, for garnish
