Ingredients

Servings
  • 8 ounces spaghetti broken in half
  • 1 andouille chicken sausage 12.8-ounce package, sliced

For the marinara sauce

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 cloves garlic thinly sliced
  • ¼ cup basil chiffonade, fresh leaves
  • 2 crushed tomatoes 28-ounce cans
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons balsamic vinegar

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pot over low heat. Add the garlic and cook until golden, about 3 minutes. Stir in the basil and tomatoes.
  2. Bring to a boil and add the salt; reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, until sauce has thickened, about 40-45 minutes. Stir in the balsamic vinegar.
  3. Thread 5-7 spaghetti strands through each slice of sausage.
  4. In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook pasta according to package instructions; drain well.
  5. Serve immediately with marinara sauce.
