Description

Top Hat Cookies start by melting milk chocolate using a double boiler for even heating. Grasshopper cookies are arranged on a baking sheet, and large marshmallows are dipped mostly into the melted chocolate and allowed to drip off excess. Each marshmallow is placed onto a dollop of chocolate on the cookie to secure it.

The remaining chocolate is piped as decorative glue dots to affix small red M&Ms onto the marshmallows' white surface, along with holly leaf sprinkles placed symmetrically around the M&Ms. Once assembled, the cookies are left to sit for 20 to 30 minutes to allow the chocolate to harden and set the toppings firmly in place.

These cookies feature a combination of textures: the crisp cookie base, the soft, chewy marshmallow center, and the smooth chocolate coating. They can be served as festive treats or sweet snacks and are visually appealing with their holiday-themed decorations.

  • 1 grasshopper cookies Keebler brand, package
  • 1 marshmallows large, package
  • 1 milk chocolate Ghiradelli brand, melting, bag
  • 1 Sprinkles wilton holly melody
  • 1/4 C m&m reds picked out, mini

Instructions

  1. Using a double boiler, melt your chocolate
  2. Place 24 grasshopper cookies onto the cookie sheet
  3. Dip 3/4 of the marshmallows into the chocolate and lightly shake the excess chocolate off
  4. Spoon a little dollop of chocolate into the middle of the cookie and place the marshmallow onto the chocolate
  5. Repeat steps with remaining chocolate
  6. Pour the rest of the chocolate into the piping bag
  7. Using the chocolate as a glue, pipe on a dot onto the back of the red M&M
  8. Place the M&M onto the middle of the white part of the marshmallow
  9. Pipe on a small dollop onto the back of the holly sprinkles and place a holly leaf on both sides of the M&M
  10. Repeat with remaining cookies and marshmallows
  11. Once done, let sit to harden for about 20-30 minutes
