Tortellini Al Forno Recipe

Tortellini Al Forno features cooked three-cheese tortellini dressed in a creamy Parmesan sauce enriched with garlic and bacon. The sauce is thickened with flour and heavy cream, then combined with sautéed garlic, spicy crushed red pepper (optional), and grated Parmesan. Crispy bacon and chopped chives finish the dish, providing savory and fresh notes.

Description

This recipe starts by boiling refrigerated three-cheese tortellini until tender and cooling it before combining with a sauce made from bacon drippings, butter, garlic, and optional crushed red pepper. Flour is added to the melted butter mixture to form a paste, which is then smoothed out with heavy cream to create a thickened sauce. Parmesan cheese is stirred in off heat to enrich the sauce with sharp, nutty flavor.

The cooked tortellini is coated in this creamy sauce, then topped with crisp, chopped bacon and fresh chives for texture and aroma. The result is a comforting dish that balances creamy richness with the smoky crunch of bacon and subtle heat from the pepper if included.
