Description
Triple Cheddar Chicken and Pasta Recipe brings together chicken breast pieces flavored with fresh thyme and seasoned with salt and pepper, cooked until tender. Fusili pasta is cooked to al dente and then coated in a cheese sauce made by melting butter and whisking in flour to create a roux, adding minced garlic, then milk until thickened. Three kinds of cheddar cheese and Parmesan are incorporated for a rich and creamy sauce. The cooked chicken and pasta are combined in the sauce, with thyme and oregano added for extra herbal flavor. This dish is served warm, showcasing a balance of tender chicken, al dente pasta, and a smooth, cheesy sauce perfect for a satisfying meal.
Ingredients
For the chicken
- 2-3 chicken breast cut into 1 in pieces, boneless, skinless
- 1 TB thyme fresh
- olive oil
- salt to taste
- black pepper to taste
For the pasta
- 1 lb fusili pasta or rotini
- 2 TB butter
- 2 TB all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp garlic minced
- 2 c milk
- 1 c cheddar cheese triple, shredded
- 2 TB thyme fresh
- 1 TB oregano
- 1/4 c Parmesan Cheese grated
Instructions
- Cook pasta as directed on box to al dente.
- While pasta is cooking, add oil to a pan and add chicken pieces. Sprinkle on thyme, salt and pepper and cook until chicken is cooked through.
- In a separate pan, add butter and melt on medium heat. Once melted, add flour and whisk together. Add garlic and cook for a few minutes, followed by the milk. Cook until the sauce thickens and then add cheese and stir to melt.
- Then, add chicken pieces and pasta to the sauce and mix until well combined. Sprinkle on thyme and oregano. Top with grated Parmesan cheese and serve warm. ENJOY!
