Tuna Curry

Tuna Curry here uses canned tuna combined with sautéed onions, garlic, tomatoes, and a mix of spices including chili powder and turmeric. The recipe creates a savory and mildly spicy curry with a balance of flavors and a soft texture. Cooking in a pan with olive oil allows the ingredients to meld, making a warming dish that pairs well with chapatti.

Description

This Tuna Curry recipe starts with heating olive oil and softening finely diced onions, creating a flavorful base. Adding chopped garlic, salt, chili powder, and turmeric powder brings depth and spice, cooked together to bloom the spices. Diced tomatoes are then added and cooked until softened, providing a fresh and tangy component.

The canned tuna is incorporated next, cooked for several minutes to blend with the spice mix. Finally, thinly sliced green chilies are stirred in shortly before serving, adding mild heat and freshness. The curry is served immediately, traditionally alongside homemade chapatti to scoop the saucy mixture.

The preparation results in a curry that delivers a combination of savory tuna with warm spices, balanced acidity from tomatoes, and gentle heat from chilies. The method ensures the tuna remains tender and well coated without becoming dry.
