Tuna Melt
Description
The Tuna Melt recipe brings together drained and flaked canned tuna mixed with finely diced celery, minced red onion, and parsley, all bound with a mayonnaise and mustard dressing brightened by lemon juice. Seasoned with salt and black pepper, the tuna mixture offers a creamy, tangy filling. The sandwich assembly involves buttering slices of bread, layering the tuna salad and cheese between them, then toasting the sandwich in a skillet until the bread is golden and crisp and the cheese has warmed and melted. This method creates contrast between the crunchy exterior and soft, flavorful center. Serving options include adding fresh tomato slices or enjoying the tuna salad atop toasted bread open-faced. This flexibility makes it a practical and adaptable sandwich choice that can be adjusted to taste preferences and available ingredients.
