Turkey Meatballs

These Turkey Meatballs use lean ground turkey mixed with Italian-style breadcrumbs, parsley, garlic, spices, and Parmesan cheese, broiled briefly to brown before simmering slowly in a tomato-based sauce. The result is tender, flavorful meatballs with a rich, savory sauce perfect for serving over pasta or as a main dish.

Description

Turkey Meatballs combine lean ground turkey with a mix of breadcrumbs, fresh parsley, minced garlic, onion powder, Parmesan cheese, and seasonings for a balanced flavor and texture. Shaping into one-inch meatballs and broiling them gives a browned exterior. The meatballs then slow-cook in a blend of marinara sauce, crushed tomatoes, and tomato sauce, which infuses them with moisture and deep tomato flavor over several hours. This slow cooking ensures tender, juicy meatballs throughout.

The preparation involves a broil step to develop color and a slow cooker phase for flavor melding and gentle cooking. The mixture of tomato sauces creates a rich base that keeps the meatballs moist while intensifying the savory notes from the herbs and cheese. The dish finishes with extra parsley and Parmesan sprinkled on top for freshness and sharpness.

Turkey Meatballs are well suited for serving with pasta, crusty bread, or as protein components in a composed meal. The slow cooker method allows for advance preparation and keeps the meatballs warm until serving.
