Turkey Meatloaf Recipe
Description
Turkey Meatloaf Recipe features ground turkey mixed with sautéed onions, egg, milk, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, and breadcrumbs to bind the loaf. After mixing gently to avoid toughness, the meat mixture is formed into a loaf and baked. A topping made from ketchup and brown sugar is added mid-cooking to create a glossy, sweet finish. This method ensures a meatloaf with a tender interior and flavorful crust.
The baking process involves initial cooking followed by topping application and additional baking to set the glaze. The use of Worcestershire sauce enriches the overall flavor subtly without overpowering the turkey’s mildness. The topping balances savory and sweet, giving a familiar comfort food note.
The meatloaf can be served sliced with sides like mashed potatoes or steamed vegetables. Practical considerations include variations with different ground meats or breadcrumb types, plus freezing instructions for leftover storage. The recommended storage time in the refrigerator is up to four days, ensuring safe and convenient meal planning.

- ½ tbsp neutral cooking oil generic cooking oil

- ½ tbsp brown sugar
Instructions

- While that bakes, whisk together the ketchup and brown sugar for topping.
- After 45 minutes, remove the meatloaf from the oven and spread the sauce over the top. Return to the oven to bake for another 10 minutes.
- Remove and cool for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

- Ground turkey can be substituted with ground chicken, pork, beef, or a combination.
- Freeze fully cooked meatloaf tightly wrapped for up to three months.
- Use gluten-free breadcrumbs if needed to accommodate dietary restrictions.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator and consume within four days.
