Turkey Pasta Carbonara
Description
This recipe cooks spaghetti according to package instructions, then prepares a sauce by rendering chopped bacon until crisp. Onions and garlic cook briefly in the bacon fat, developing flavor before adding turkey gravy and heavy cream, which are simmered until slightly thickened. Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper are stirred in to create a velvety sauce base.
The cooked pasta is combined with the sauce along with diced cooked turkey and thawed peas, allowing the flavors to meld and the sauce to coat all ingredients evenly. Parsley is sprinkled on top for freshness, and additional Parmesan may be added for serving.
This dish offers a variation on traditional carbonara by substituting turkey gravy and incorporating extra vegetables and turkey pieces. It is suitable for using leftover cooked turkey and delivers a comforting, creamy pasta suited to casual meals.
